I'm not all that busy right now. But soon.
June 12th I'll be in Seattle for STIFF (Seattle True Independent Film Fest) for screenings of Nerdcore For Life and to do a show afterwards. I'm hoping that I'll be able to get out of work without using any personal or vacation time as I am trying to save it all for PAX, but I will find a way to be at both one way or another. In more exciting news, Chandra's coming with me. Maybe Ryan too, but who cares about that kid :P
The plan is to drive up Wednesday night or Thursday morning, hit up some Seattle spots, go to the screening, rock the mic, and come back that night so I can go to work Friday. Not as fun as I'd like for it to be, but Chandra is a really laid back co-pilot which I strongly like and she's offered to drive us back home. I don't know if I'll actually allow such things as I really dig driving, but I know I'll be pretty tuckered out. So maybe.
I'm really hoping the flick goes over well. I'm going back to Seattle on Sunday for the second screening, unless they hate it Thursday night, in which case I'm staying far far away. But I've seen the flick twice now and it's goofy and fun and I really don't come off as a dick which is an amazing plus. Maybe I can con Bethany into doing a write up about STIFF since a couple of local boys will be featured. Also kind of cool that Dan will be flying in from Chicago to be here. He's a character and a good dude who should have spent less time fucking with kids on message boards like he told me to do lol. I just wish I could make more out of the Thursday night events and I hope that Chandra is able to come up with me again on that Sunday when we'd have more time to check out all the cool shit Seattle has to offer.
In other news, a dude in LA wants to make a music vid for I'm No Superman and I think he wants to fly me down. I hate LA, but this dude has some really dope ideas for what he wants to do for the vid so I might be able to suffer through SoCal for a short time. I just wish it was San Fransisco or the Bay in general so I could hang out with Doc Pop for a bit. I miss that guy. More info on this as I get it, but for now it's in the possible column of events.
I submit that there are few things worse than waking up on a Friday morning expecting to see vast sums in your bank account, only to have those dreams shattered when you take a look and see that there are no funds to speak of. In a spot where vast sums should rightly be. This is the second payday in a row that I have been hosed by whatever direct deposit error there is on my account. Two weeks ago I was told that everything was good to go and I wouldn't have this problem again. This, obviously, was not 100% accurate. The payroll lady at work is in a meeting, so even though I've called twice, there is still no progress being made to rectify this injustice! I just need my duckets yo, I gots plans.
Brief rundown on yesterday: Picked up Ryan at like two, went to see Al since Lacey was still at work. Took Ryan and Al to Ryan's house so they could later go to work, came home, took a nap, went to Lacey's when she was out of work, Ryan was there as was Lacey's friend who's name escapes me. Heard strange Lacey stories before Ryan left, all went to take Lacey's friend home and pick up Al from work. Went to Al and Lacey's for a while, came home, chatted on the phone with Chandra, watched TV shows on the net, then went to bed. Not much excitement I'd say.
There has been a lot of talk about PAX lately (there's been talk about a lot of stuff from what I understand, but for this blog we'll discuss PAX) and just the idea that it's coming up soon makes me all sorts of glad. We've already booked two hotel rooms, but with as many people who are saying they'd like to go this year, we might actually need another one. You don't really sleep during PAX, the rooms are just there so we have a place to party. And when you party as hard as I do sometimes you need multiple rooms.
I've just started listening to Gnarls Barkley's new album The Odd Couple and so far I'm in love with it. It's like they picked up right where St. Elsewhere left off. I don't know if this album has a hit as big as "Crazy" but then again I do have five more tracks to listen to. As a matter of fact, that's what I'm going to do now. Bye!
