Haven't felt like blogging for the past few days. It's like I've been on a roller coaster for the past two days, but there not much to do here at work so why not blog right?
Couple days ago sucked. Chandra called me up at 8:30 since she had been up for two hours and couldn't get back to sleep. Stopped by Some Bagels to get her breakfast. Dropped it off and hung out for a little bit. Decided to buy Rock Band for the Wii which was a mistake since the Guitar Hero guitar doesn't work with it as we were lead to believe. Went home, played a little, then took a nap.
Ryan later came by. Lacey was in need of some alone time so I told Ryan it was more than ok to crash at my place. I give the kid more shit than anyone, but even my cold heart wouldn't allow me to pick on the poor kid. And being as how Tuna and Nick don't like him, I was kinda protective of him for the rest of the night.
Last night I went to see Hellboy II: The Golden Army last night with a group of people. I gotta say I loved it. It's no Iron Man or Incredible Hulk, but it's a badass and hilarious superhero flick. I don't think I've laughed so much at a superhero movie...well, at least where it was the director's intention for me to laugh. After the movie we hung out outside and made rather distasteful so therefore hilarious comments. Ryan crashed and Chandra stopped by for a little bit. Ryan, Nick, and I started watching Golden Eye for the first time in years, and it's incredible how much I still remember those Golden Eye maps from the N64 and what a good job the developers did turning the movie sets into maps in the first place.
So far I've only beaten the fire and ice bosses on Mega Man X, which are small feats on their own. I think I'll be spending the rest of my day doing that when I get off at three. Maybe run by Al and Lacey's and see how everyone's holding up. I hate that work stole my middle day. Hate them so much. I'm tired, stuff nosed, and I have a soar throat. I feel miserable, but I'm going to try to keep a happy face today. Smiles times baby!
Lots of walking lately.
The other day I spent pretty much all day with Ryan...that was a long day. Chandra went out of town and I felt like chilling out on my day off so I said sure, Ryan could hang out. I always forget that hanging out with Ryan means hearing a whole bunch about what drugs he's taking, how they're affecting him that second, and how he gets so much more/less high than anyone else. Al and Lacey came over which was cool, but also meant that I had to hear these stories AGAIN when he told them to Al and Lacey. Chandra got back into town and I bolted as soon as politely possible. Ok, maybe not even that polite.
Chandra had a really rough day which also made me grumpy, but I headed over to the park to take a walk with her with Leila in her Baby-Tank. They did some off roading before I got there. I was totally jealous. We walked around, talked about our day, and listened to possibly redneck boaters playing inappropriate music really loudly while dragging some kid on a tube. Went back to ChanChan's and fell asleep for a while then headed back home.
Yesterday I was gonna give her a break. She was excited to just go home and play video games, which I usually keep her from. That didn't last long. She called me up and I told her I'd go over and see her and we'd venture out for some soda. I get there and her eyes are in pain and she just seems not pleased, something using Beefy as a pillow always solves. We eventually started our journey to the corner store a couple blocks away. Of course...it was closed. Not only was it closed, but after I left the window to double check, a cop pulls up. The half of me that's white took center stage. Seriously though, I'm just some tall fat kid and Chandra is the picture of a cute, innocent girl. Who would suspect us of trying to break into a corner store? That'll teach me to wear sweatpants after midnight. That's how gangsters roll.
The adventure becomes grander as we extend the trip to the nearest 7-11 a few more blocks up. Chandra is some kind of great strategical mastermind, because she stole my duckets well before we had left, making it impossible for me to pay for her drink. She's the only girl I've ever met that hates it when I pay for things. I <3 her lol. But for reals, how dare her! We eventually made it back to her place and fought some crime on the steps to her apt. Lost all track of time and it wasn't until 2 or 3 until we parted ways, making plans to hang out again tonight.
Hey! Tonight's only and hour away! Yay! Oh yeah! I forgot my favorite thing! Yesterday I was feeling like shit and Chandra, because she's incredible, left me a whale cookie in my car with a note that read "Beefy - I hope you have a whale of a day! :) <3 always Chan-Chan." And on the bottom of the exclamation point there was a tiny heart. You try having a bad day after getting a whale cookie and a sugary sweet note. She's incredible!
New Grammar Club album is moving along nicely. I am however having a harder time writing this go around now that I'm not angry at any lady-folks. Shael tends to like to focus songs dealing with (and even titled) girl troubles. A while back I pitched a song called Normal I wanted to use for my next album but Shael was able to run with it and now it's going to be a GC track, which I always love. Recorded my vocals for it yesterday and I'm pretty happy with them. I had written the first two sections to much slower music, so this new version has a much faster, Girl Trouble-ish kind of flow. The song is a lot different than I had originally thought of it.
Speaking of Grammar Club, our new site still isn't up which really sucks because there are two items associated with it's launch that I really want some feedback on. Since no one really reads this, I'm going to drop knowledge here. Item One: The Grammar Club, with Jonathan Coulton's blessing, have done a cover of "Code Monkey" that I'm told is very good. It's been covered before, but not with this level of production, or an added hip-hop verse. While it would be nice to take the net by storm with this new song, my real hope is that we make ourselves and JoCo happy. The first part is done. I think it's our best sounding song thus far, and hopefully we'll be able to pass it on to JoCo soon. Item two: We're going to sell t-shirts. The design is badass as far as I'm concerned and I would really love getting pictures of people wearing and loving them! All this and more...AS SOON AS THE FRAKKIN' SITE LAUNCHES!
Ok...breath...
Lot of drinking went down at Chan Chan's the other night with Ryan, Nick, and Chandra's roommates in attendance. Chandra's roommates are weird. Ok, not so much Laura, but Laura's boyfriend is an odd bird. I'm sure he's fantastic once you get to know him...but still lol. I personally had an incredible evening. Last night sucked. All of a sudden I got really hot and my face wouldn't stop sweating. I tried taking an ice cold shower and that didn't seem to do much to help. Laid in my bed for about a half hour just trying to think of cool thoughts until I finally curled up into a ball and fell asleep for 4 hours. Freaky times indeed. Still have a bit of a headache, but everything else is starting to feel a lot better. Tonight I'm suppose to see Chandrabean which always makes me smile. Sometimes these things disintegrate, but I'm hopeful hangouts won't fall through tonight. Have a great day!
Can I tell what I, and millions of other men and women, enjoy across America?
Girls kissing.
There's just something about two girls going at it with feeling and vigor that just makes people like me smile ear to ear. I just thought I'd share that with you.
Lacey and Ryan's semi-surprise party (Ryan already knew, we mostly did it to show Lacey that we love and appreciate her) was a hit. There was fun, drinking, and a bunch of really dank snacks masterminded by Chandralier. I made brownies which she enhanced with frosting and topped with swirled white and milk chocolate chips and I made the chocolate covered pretzels with sprinkles using her well crafted techniques. She then made fruity pebble treats and a chocolate cake with chocolate frosting with white frosting and crushed oreos in the middle. We then designed it to form a weed leaf with green M&Ms and red and yellow M&Ms around it. It was amazing. I think a lot of money could be made in a special bakery for stoners.
I saw Chandra drunk for the first time. Travis got so smashed that he broke Al's door. That kind of stuff I have seen before. We tried watching The Host, but drunk people don't really pay attention to movies. I learned that while small as hell, Chandra's car has balls and it reminds me of driving my VW Rabbit where I could hit both the gas and breaks at once with my giant foot.
Oh yeah, and since my last update...shit got real. lol boosh! have a good one.
Big day tomorrow. Show day. Seattle day. Movie day. All rolled into one! I haven't done my own set since...February I think. Needless to say I'm more than a little rusty. Thankfully the place will be full of friends like Chandra, Bethany, Ryan, YT, Karl, and Dan to name a few, who have all seen me suck ass at rapping before. So I'm not that nervous.
Wow work has sucked! Turns out one of the Indian offices went down so we we've been having to take tech and general calls. I'm use to having a handful of minutes in between calls, but not today. I'm very spoiled and I had grown accustom to it.
Shitty day at work. Can't wait to go home. It took 10 hours to write this between calls and insane British/Brazilian people who spend over an hour with me wanting to know everything about a product on our website. Guess that's why I get paid the big bucks. Oi. At least my blogs aren't as depressing as Damon's. Sheesh! See ya in Seattle kids!

Yesterday was the first twenty four hours. It was by far the hardest thing in the world not to call or text. I almost called the store...just cause. Thankfully work proved to be very distracting and I was able to distract myself further by hanging out after work.
Last night the boys had a show at Ray's which I hit up as soon as I left worky-work. I roamed around before the show and saw a bunch of people I hadn't seen in like a year. Not since the good ol' ZKrew days. The guys were really great and I think much better than their last Ray's show. I went up. No big whoop. I think we're going to have to stop doing Table Top. It's kind of played out now and they have much better songs they could end on. After the set, because I'm this kind of sap, I looked around to see if she'd decided to come like she was planning. No dice.
Ryan came over after and we talked about stupid shit (I want to make a sci-fi movie based on Grizzly Man. Two words brought together by a hyphen: ware-bear) and I showed him some new stuff Shael and I had been working on and some of the finished tracks for Rolling Doubles. Ryan had to run home before hitting up Lacey's since her and Al stayed to check out Mister Orange. Tuna and I had a talk about him not wanting me to reform back to horrible roommate Beefy and I told him I had thought about that and that the last few days have been shitty but I just need to let some things happen and I'll be back to normal. I'm not going to lie to you, I beat up on myself in times of weakness and I become a wreck. But soon I'll stop feeling sorry for myself and clean up a bit. It's really very nice knowing Tunes always has my back and he very much cares how I'm doing. I picked a great guy to move in with.
So after making out with Tuna, I hop over to Lacey and Al's to hangout. Ryan was there already on account that I stopped at Taco Bell. Ryan and I WAY geek out over movies and we talk of how nice it would be to hangout at an OR beach and have a fire with Al playing guitar. Honest to god it sounds fun. Went home, watched some West Wing, and crashed out. Now I'm trying to decide what to do today since I am without work. I figure it's clean up time. I made it though the first day, which in my recent experience with quitting things cold turkey is the hardest day, so I figure today would make for a good clean up day. My room is a wreck and I still haven't hung all of my posters. Trash. Laundry. Hell, I might even do the dishes. Don't quote me on that though. Mind you all of this goes out the window is Tanner signs on with new tracks or, better yet, new beats! Have a great day!
I'm not all that busy right now. But soon.
June 12th I'll be in Seattle for STIFF (Seattle True Independent Film Fest) for screenings of Nerdcore For Life and to do a show afterwards. I'm hoping that I'll be able to get out of work without using any personal or vacation time as I am trying to save it all for PAX, but I will find a way to be at both one way or another. In more exciting news, Chandra's coming with me. Maybe Ryan too, but who cares about that kid :P
The plan is to drive up Wednesday night or Thursday morning, hit up some Seattle spots, go to the screening, rock the mic, and come back that night so I can go to work Friday. Not as fun as I'd like for it to be, but Chandra is a really laid back co-pilot which I strongly like and she's offered to drive us back home. I don't know if I'll actually allow such things as I really dig driving, but I know I'll be pretty tuckered out. So maybe.
I'm really hoping the flick goes over well. I'm going back to Seattle on Sunday for the second screening, unless they hate it Thursday night, in which case I'm staying far far away. But I've seen the flick twice now and it's goofy and fun and I really don't come off as a dick which is an amazing plus. Maybe I can con Bethany into doing a write up about STIFF since a couple of local boys will be featured. Also kind of cool that Dan will be flying in from Chicago to be here. He's a character and a good dude who should have spent less time fucking with kids on message boards like he told me to do lol. I just wish I could make more out of the Thursday night events and I hope that Chandra is able to come up with me again on that Sunday when we'd have more time to check out all the cool shit Seattle has to offer.
In other news, a dude in LA wants to make a music vid for I'm No Superman and I think he wants to fly me down. I hate LA, but this dude has some really dope ideas for what he wants to do for the vid so I might be able to suffer through SoCal for a short time. I just wish it was San Fransisco or the Bay in general so I could hang out with Doc Pop for a bit. I miss that guy. More info on this as I get it, but for now it's in the possible column of events.
I didn't get enough sleep tonight. Too much good times. Didn't start great though. I woke up yesterday morning and my duckets weren't in my bank account. Had to deal with a lot of headaches before it was discovered what happened. So annoying.
Al, Lacey, Ryan and I drove to Umitilla on a smoke run. I didn't get any for myself, I just enjoy a short road trip. Ryan also had us stop and check out a cool location he's used for filming and how it would be cool to go there again. It really is a cool spot, but it was cold and windy and I didn't have a coat or pants. What is this world coming to? We get back and I move on to my next mission.
I stop at Sushimori and pick up a promised lunched for myself and Chandra. I do love when I have money to spend. It was delicious, we told silly stories, and made plans for Brawl later that night. I picked up a game for my brother (who's birthday is today! Happy Birthday Kevin!) got a poster for my room, then took my leave with Chad behind me as I was giving him a ride home.
With Al at work, I walk into to Lacey's house with her in the kitchen making a cake and Ryan in the living room sheepishly watching porn. I guess Lacey put it in. I didn't ask too many questions. It was called "Employ My Pussy" which I found hilarious but didn't care much for the content on screen. This was discount porn for sure. Butters came over, we chilled, and then the cake was ready and we grubbed. Lacey packed a slice for Chandra since there is obviously love there. Took Ryan home and headed to my own.
Turns out Chad went out and got hammered. Way smashed. More drunk then I honestly remember him ever being before. Chandra dropped him off as she still needed to pick up her daughter and Heath had showed up to join in on the fun. Chandra came back after we had cut off Chad and he was sad, but it was a necessary evil. We played some Brawl when Chandra came back and some Apples to Apples. Good times were had by all. Went to bed. Here I am.
I submit that there are few things worse than waking up on a Friday morning expecting to see vast sums in your bank account, only to have those dreams shattered when you take a look and see that there are no funds to speak of. In a spot where vast sums should rightly be. This is the second payday in a row that I have been hosed by whatever direct deposit error there is on my account. Two weeks ago I was told that everything was good to go and I wouldn't have this problem again. This, obviously, was not 100% accurate. The payroll lady at work is in a meeting, so even though I've called twice, there is still no progress being made to rectify this injustice! I just need my duckets yo, I gots plans.
Brief rundown on yesterday: Picked up Ryan at like two, went to see Al since Lacey was still at work. Took Ryan and Al to Ryan's house so they could later go to work, came home, took a nap, went to Lacey's when she was out of work, Ryan was there as was Lacey's friend who's name escapes me. Heard strange Lacey stories before Ryan left, all went to take Lacey's friend home and pick up Al from work. Went to Al and Lacey's for a while, came home, chatted on the phone with Chandra, watched TV shows on the net, then went to bed. Not much excitement I'd say.
There has been a lot of talk about PAX lately (there's been talk about a lot of stuff from what I understand, but for this blog we'll discuss PAX) and just the idea that it's coming up soon makes me all sorts of glad. We've already booked two hotel rooms, but with as many people who are saying they'd like to go this year, we might actually need another one. You don't really sleep during PAX, the rooms are just there so we have a place to party. And when you party as hard as I do sometimes you need multiple rooms.
I've just started listening to Gnarls Barkley's new album The Odd Couple and so far I'm in love with it. It's like they picked up right where St. Elsewhere left off. I don't know if this album has a hit as big as "Crazy" but then again I do have five more tracks to listen to. As a matter of fact, that's what I'm going to do now. Bye!
Ok, I have to shower and go pick up Ryan, so we have to do quick blogging. The title is because I'm listening to a Coldplay song. Don't you judge me!
Last night I actually did a lot. Travis, Chris and I went to Applebee's and had some steak. People talk shit about Applebee's all the time, but every time I've been there I've had a delicious meal and tasty beer. After that we stopped by Chris' and saw Janet and Joey. Joey got a little bob haircut and is adorable as all hell. Chris read her a book, we said goodnight, and headed over to Travis'. We hung out there for a bit watching YouTube videos of the Swedish Chef until I clocked out so I could go to Lacey's for a bit so I could get my charger for my laptop (which I forgot...dumb Beefy)
We had tried to call Lacey over and over and she never answered. This is very non-Lacey. So I show up at the apartment and see her car in the driveway, confirming my fear that she is more than likely sleeping. I ring the doorbell a couple times, and Lacey eventually pops open the door and invites me in saying it's cool and that she needs to be awake now because Al will be off soon. We chill out and and I think about how much I miss smoking as I watch Lacey hers. We pick up Al, come back, and I miss cigarettes so much that I almost nut when we spark up a joint Al had rolled hours earlier. I get mad baked which really takes the edge off not having nicotine and continue to chill and text Chandra.
During these texting sessions, Chandra expresses slight interest in hanging out. That was the biggest mistake she could make this night. I coax her into coming over to my place, and it's already past midnight and she has to work at 9 the next morning. I get home, make a quesidilla, and enjoy it outside with a Corona while Nick smokes. Then Chan-Chan gets there and we just kick it. Then kick it some more. Tuna, Chandra, and I spend a couple hours just telling stories and shooting the shit. Then Tunes and Nick go to bed and Chandra and I continue telling stories. This goes on for a while. A long while. The time turns to 2, the 3:30, I giggle at 4:20, and when we see the sun starting to rise at 6 we know she's made a huge mistake. She heads out knowing she's not going to sleep, whereas as soon as she exits, I pass out immediately. I woke up several hours later and txt to see how she's doing, and of course she's so amazing that she's doing fine and hasn't crashed at all and has made it to both jobs just fine. Incredible. I tell her that if she needs or wants anything she should hit me up as I can't help be feel responsible for her current hardship.
Then Ryan calls me to pick him up because we have shit to do I guess. And here we are. I gotta shower then jet. One.
